[Adamant FX]

Not one of your finest moments.

As far as the over all mix of the piece goes it's pretty good. I liked the tempo you've put it at, not to fast (which is a common mistake with a lot of D&B tunes on NG).

Although it was pretty empty. The background effect are very well placed and fit in well but the seams to be an emptiness around the main melody.

You could do with adding maybe more harmonies following the main melody line, so a canon. Something to fill up the time when we're getting bored hearing the same "rave synth" sound.

Overall not a bad little piece. If you do expand on this, give me a PM, I'll gladly take another look at it, maybe boost your score.

Good Concept

I like what you've done with your ideas but there seams to be something lacking in this. It might be the bass, by the factor that there isn't much of it. Also, something that didn't sound right was the rim shot sound at the start. It seams that there should be some more sustain on it but it seams to end suddenly on every hit. A bit more expansion on the melody would go down well also.

Overall; not a bad track but more work needed.

For the melody, It's just I have one day for each song so I dont want to go in complexe stuff...

For the bass, I think it's just a question of point of views ;)

Here it is:

Pro's: Good use of phaser. Nice synth sound. Good bass riff. Decent use of repetition. Commendable effects.

Con's: Way to short. More compression needed on the drums. Levelling needs more work. Expansion needed on the synth riffs. Futher length to the song. More of a pulse would be nice.

I like what you've done with what you had here. It'd make a nice middle to break up two separate tracks however I don't think it works on it own. Maybe heavier drums would sort that problem out. Nice sound but improvement can be made.

You don't have to follow my advice, these are just guide-lines, idea's if you will.

Get back to me if you ever expand upon it.

Not to Brill.

A generous 5 here. It just wasn't too great. Here's why:

The length of a few of your tunes seems to be a problem by the factor that they're too short but I'm quite thankful that this one isn't too long. It seems to have a very annoying factor to it. As you said, it's a lot like Pendulum, but without their Bass. I think that's what makes this tune sound so awful.

Don't get me wrong, I like the way you're being creative and testing out new stuff but sometimes experiments go wrong and give shocking outcomes. It's one of these songs that sounds like I'm listening to it from some guy's overpowered headphones at the back of a grotty, Manchester bus.

The way that it seems to be 2 different Drum & Bass tunes, stripped from 2 totally different tracks, had their bass removed, feed-back sounds and samples thrown in and then been surgically put back together using little more than Paper-Mache and PVA glue

I've heard better from you. The only thing keeping this tune going is the creativity you've put in.

Not what I expected

Listening to your other tunes I was expecting a really ambient backing with some drum & Bass in the middle but this changed all that really!

Not a fond of the tempo you chose, could have done with being a little faster in my opinion. But I DID love the build up around 0:56. That bit was truly sick.

Although apart from that there was nothing really that interested me to much. Still good work though.

Keep it up.

[Halloween 2 FX]

Dude this is Brilliant!

If only I had found this before Halloween! It's a brilliant tune! Love the sound effects and stuff like that. Brilliant use of grunge like drums and great use of the high pitched synth sound.

My only Criticism is that it's way to short. If I was you, I'd do a remix, leave this bit till the middle, and just expand upon it best you can! If you added, say 3 or 4 more minutes onto it then I think it'd defiantly get my 10/10.

thanks for the review man. I DO have the project file for this, so I may just have a stab at it. I've taken a month break from submitting, and im trying to get something together to submit. I like this song minus the ending... so I might try somthing like that =)

[Evil-Dog - The Last Stand]

This is very decent!

Brilliant! I didn't expect the synth at the end but it sounds brilliant! Plus that guitar riff didn't seam to get anoying either, and I love the overlaying riffs faiding out at the end! I was going to say it's all good except the drums but then they started to get better! I don't think there's anything I can say that's bad about this; except to make it longer and have more variation.

Nothing is perfect; but this is one hell of a shot at it. It may be 9/10 on here but it's 5/5 up there.

[ParagonX9 - Chaoz Fantasy]

Very good.

This IS very good indeed. It got my attention almost imediatly! I loved it all! I like the way there seams to be verses to. With that distorted synth making everything fit!

If I could say something though; it would be that the drums seam to be very "samey". It's something I hear much to often is drum beats that arn't individual and are very much identical to other users.

Drums are a main part of Drum & Bass (hence the name) so please make it one of the best parts of the tune.

It's Cleaver.

I liked the mix of Ambience with the Breakbeat. I also loved the tempo! Usually I like things fast and raw but this was fitting to have it slow as seen. You evidently know what you're talking about when you make these things so I'll leave it to you.

If I can say something negative thought, it's that there doesn't seam to be a real change in melody. It seams very samy and no real diffrence. A key change maybe? That's something that's rarely seen in this type of stuff.

Yeah I'm with you on the score being a bit repetitive, most of the score remains original (aside from the arps from around 2:40 and the plucks from 3:12 or so) to the beginning of the project, mostly instruments were added and remade.

This is one of those songs I have as potential starting points for a remix in the near future, so I might work on this once again this summer

Hmm

Very empty is what I thought. Repetition is good but to much of it can be boring. You seamed to use the same melody over and over again. However I did like the drumming at the end, that did boost it's rating.

You really need to work on this. Add more variations! Make is fresh! No body wants to hear the same things 20 times over in a club!
